Registration for the Citython is now open at www.CHVCitython.com

Draft, Boston, MA – Today, the Camp Harbor View Foundation and Presenting Sponsor, Optum, announce the opening of registration for participants of Camp Harbor View’s first Citython 5K & Brunch. Runners, walkers, and guests can find event details and register at www.CHVCitython.com. The Citython will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 9:00am, beginning and ending at the Boston Common. Runners who register before August 15 th will receive $10 off their registration fee.

Friends of Camp Harbor View may remember the organization’s former 5K event, the Harborthon, which took place on Long Island in the Boston Harbor in July. The Harborthon was a successful fundraiser for Camp Harbor View for six years, but was forced into retirement after losing the Long Island Bridge.

“Camp Harbor View and Harborthon fans are looking forward to a new, reinvented 5K event, which will take place on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Our hope is to bring the Boston community together for a morning of physical activity and celebration in support of Boston’s youth. We look forward to bringing the event into the city and to hosting on a Saturday morning, making it more convenient than our past 5K in many ways. Although the venue and the date will change, the festive atmosphere and sense of community of the Harborthon will definitely be preserved,” said Camp Harbor View Foundation President, Sharon McNally.

The Citython 5K race course designed by Dave McGillivray and DMSESports, Inc., will take runners through iconic Boston neighborhoods, Back Bay and Kenmore, via Commonwealth Avenue. Awards will be presented to male and female winners of each age category after the race, as well as the first, second, and third place winners overall.

After the race, participants are invited to enjoy the Citython Brunch on the Boston Common, featuring b.good restaurant breakfast bowls, mimosas, ciders and more. Musical entertainment will be provided by DJ Nelski, who DJ’ed past 5K events for Camp Harbor View.

The registration fee for runners is $50 and includes participation in the Citython 5K road race – a USATF certified race course – including a bib with a built-in timing chip, one long sleeve race shirt, admission for one to the post-race brunch and three drink tickets.

Guests of runners may purchase a Brunch Pass for $18 which includes admission for one to the post-race brunch and three Citython sponsorship packages are available and benefits include a corporate team option.
